Critical Issue: The client needed to automate a call center, using a predictive dialer.
To provide faster response
to changing business requirements, and to support
new lines of business, specifically web-based business opportunities.
Reasons: The telephone company provided the hardware and a software
interface to the dialer, but did not address the business needs of the collection agents. Client used a vendor's proprietary software that operated on terminals.
The system was difficult to modify, and the vendor controlled all of the modifications.
The Comdyn Group Provided: An application that interfaces with the dialer
software. When the dialler calls a customer, our software displays a screen pop of the
customer information to the collection agent before the customer answers. Our analysis resulted in a web-based solution involving the following
components: each store has a Virtual Private Network (VPN) running over their Internet
connection. Each store has a single Windows 2000 Professional system acting as a web
server. This machine is on the corporate network via the VPN. Other Windows clients in
the store connect to the local store web server to process transactions.
Results: This system is in production at the client. It has helped to double
the productivity of the collection agents by automating the process of retrieving the
customer record. The system is in production at the client.
Additionally, a .NET Web Client services customers doing business over the Internet.
This website collects customer applications, applies business rules, and integrates with
back-office systems in a highly secure manner.
