Critical Issue: The client wanted to replace a manual Excel-based series of spread sheets
with a SQL Server 7 database solution.

Reasons: To centralize company data and enhance business operations.

The Comdyn Group Provided: The Comdyn Group developed a three-tiered system
solution using a Visual Basic 6 client, and a data access layer DLL (COM). All database
operations are performed via stored procedure for improved performance. Security is
based on the Windows NT network logon credentials.
Other functionality includes managing product test results and allowing for reporting and
trend analysis. Some reporting is generated through Excel automation, including
complex charting of regression lines and statistical 95% confidence intervals.
The system has undergone and passed a rigorous FDA validation process by an
independent organization. The new system has now been in use at the client for several
years. It has substantially reduced the labor required to maintain, analyze, and report on
the test results.
