Business Issue: The Institute required an improved system for specimen tracking, clinical tracking and protocol management.
Business Issue: They have a requirement (called CMS) to track patient cases across the various hospitals and physicians they service in the United States and globally. CMS must meet various regulatory issues while streamlining a complex case status workflow and business logic requirement.
The Comdyn Group Solution: Our analysis resulted in detailed business requirements, an application specification defining the logical design, and the development plan.
The Comdyn Group created a .NET 2.0 browser based application enabling different departmental users to interact with the cases as they move through the workflow. SQL Server 2000 was used as the database engine.
Reporting Services was utilized with a customized .NET report launching interface. An integration layer was created between CMS and MAS200, the manufacturing, distribution and billing software. Integration with MAS200 occurs via SQL DTS, and data is synchronized hourly enabling the Customer Service and Regulatory users to provide key information to internal management and outside regulators, hospitals and doctors.
